You will need a face-to-face assessment by the Aged Care Assessment Team to determine your eligibility.

You can go to My Aged Care website to check if you are eligible for an assessment OR apply online for an assessment, or call My Aged Care on 1800 200 422 to get started.

Costs Associated with Permanent Care

Typically, there are three types of costs associated with all aged care homes:

  1. A basic daily fee A maximum amount that everyone pays for the hotel services they receive

  2. Accommodation costs - A varying cost for your room based on a means assessment.

  3. Means-tested care fee - A varying cost for the care services you receive based on a means assessment.
